A Pug named Maxx

It Started With a Pug Named Maxx.

Meet Maxx. He’s a pug. He has the shortest snout you’ve ever seen, basically no neck, and the absolute conviction that he is the biggest, baddest dog on the block.

When something moves outside? Maxx is on it — barking his face off, popping and locking across the floor like he’s about to handle business. He is fearless. He is brave. He is, in our house, a legend.

He is also eight pounds and cannot find a collar that fits his neck.

The Problem Was Real.

If you have a small dog, you know the struggle. You go to the pet store — or scroll through page after page online — and it’s all giant Kong toys, XL dog beds, and collars built for a Labrador. You’re digging through products made for dogs three times the size of yours just to find one thing that actually fits.

Food? Same story. Toys? Don’t get me started. Jackets? Forget it.

Maxx has a tiny mouth, a flat face, and a neck that’s more of a suggestion. Finding the right toy, the right food bowl, the right harness — it was a constant scavenger hunt. And I kept thinking: someone should fix this.

So I decided that someone would be me.

Meet the Founder.

Hi, I’m Liz — Maxx’s mom, lifelong dog lover, and the person behind Little Mouth.

I’ll be honest with you: starting a business at 58 was not exactly on my bingo card. I actually remember my last year of high school being the first year they did away with typing class — because computers were just starting to take over. I have spent most of my life feeling like I was a few years behind the technology curve.

But here’s what I’ve also spent most of my life doing: loving dogs. All dogs. Big ones, little ones, the ones who think they’re bigger than they are (hi, Maxx). And I got tired of waiting for someone else to build the store I desperately needed.

So I built it myself.

What Little Mouth Is.

Little Mouth is a one-stop shop built specifically for small dogs and their people. Everything here is sized, designed, and chosen with little snouts, tiny paws, and short necks in mind.

Toys they can actually carry. Food and bowls that work for flat-faced breeds. Collars, harnesses, and jackets that actually fit. All in one place, no digging required.

We love ALL dogs — big dogs and their owners are always welcome here. But for once, this store was built with the little guys as the whole point. Not an afterthought. Not a subcategory buried on page seven.

Finally — a store that gets your small dog.

Big Love for Little Dogs.

That’s our tagline, and we mean every word of it.

Maxx may think he runs the neighborhood. (He does not. But we let him believe it.) What he has done is inspire a business that we hope makes life a little easier — and a lot more fun — for small dog owners everywhere.

Welcome to Little Mouth. We’re so glad you and your little one are here. 🐾

Have a big dog? You’re still welcome. We love you too.
